I am going to change my CV slightly. I wanted to keep to a simular theme though of quite colourless with bits of colour appearing. The button links are going to be animated. The top left button shows what it looks like on mouse over.
I find that your CV and website idea have not an obvious connection between them. You might use repetition of typo style or a particular icon or graphic. Also, by now you should have a palette of colour. Apply it to both of them.
Try this and see if you can notice any improvement.
